Karel Hynek Mácha already recorded "castles seen" and this romantic interest has accompanied us since the 19th century to this day. Castles, chateaux, fortresses, mysterious ruins - these are clearly the most common tourist destinations, of which there are thousands in our territory. The publication contains a selection of the most significant, valuable and sought-after monuments of this kind. Each of them is presented with a color photo and a brief text, information about current events is attached. Most of the objects are accessible, some can only be admired from the outside.
