Lena Lagnerová came to the monastery in Bílá Voda to seek refuge from painful memories. The main character – a former journalist – gets her hands on documents that allow her to delve deep into the troubled history of the local monastery, in whose walls members of various orders, displaced from their sanctuaries as part of the infamous Action Ø, were interned since 1950. Guarded by forged comrades and collaborating church dignitaries, they had to work in the field or in the factory and face all kinds of obstructions and punishments on a daily basis. And yet those brave women did not give up their faith or hope for a better tomorrow. Can Lena find a similar strength in herself? And what will her search bring to the monastery and its current residents?
