The main character, the little boy Bukvínek, born in a beech forest and as small as his index finger, decides to go out into the world. The beech forest is already small and drab to him. And so Bukvínek wanders around the world and experiences new adventures that he never dreamed of. Children will witness, for example, how Bukvínek became an apostle, a postman, or how he fell down the chimney into the bakery and helped Mrs. Brunclíková with the marzipan cake.
