The historical chronicle from the time of the Luxembourgers about the lords of the five-leaf rose consists of two books (The Lord of the Silver Rose and The War of the Roses) combined into one volume. The destinies of these Vítkovians are directly influenced by the way of rule of Jan Luxemburg and Charles IV. Sometimes they got into arguments with the monarch, but they always supported him when it came to the defense of the Czech Kingdom and the fight for the imperial crown. After the election of Charles IV, he was the head of the Vítkov family and the highest burgrave. by the Roman king William of Landštejn, but because of his loyalty to the king he found himself at odds with the younger members of the family. Thus began the war of roses against the silver Landstein rose.
