Taoist meditation practices to increase and maintain mental awareness, memory and clarity. The book: • describes in detail techniques for increasing the level of qi energy in the brain • explains how to synchronize the left and right hemispheres by activating the body's energy potentials • illustrates that emptying the mind gives us more energy to heal the body Qigong for a healthy brain teaches students how revitalize the brain: restore its function, strengthen memory and expand capacity. Every day we use up so much brainpower for normal functioning that at the end of the day we have almost none left. An excess of thinking or worrying causes the brain to consume up to 80 percent of all the body's energy reserves. When you learn to stop your brain, empty your head of the constant chattering of the "monkey mind", and then recharge your brain with chi energy, you will increase your mental capacity, focus and clarity. Using the "inner smile" meditation technique, students learn to recharge the brain with chi energy in the form that will be most useful. Practitioners smile and empty the mind into the lower tan-tchien and organs. The organs then transform this qi energy. Once the mind is empty, the energy transformed by the organs can be sent back to the brain to revive it. This process synchronizes the left and right hemispheres by activating them and connecting them to the energy potentials of the body. As the mind continues to empty, receive and at the same time amplify the transformed qi energy, it is able to open and connect with the universal qi energies and fill the body with a higher quality life force. About the Author: Mantak Chia (Pingin: Xie Míngdé, Chinese: ???, born April 24, 1944 in Bangkok, Thailand) is a Taoist master. He is most famous for teaching Taoist practices under the names Healing Tao, Tao Yoga, Universal System of Healing Tao and Qigong. During his decades of educational activity, he has conducted countless workshops, written numerous books, and published many exercise videos. For that reason, some people call him an author, teacher or healer. He himself sees himself primarily as a teacher "who helps his students to rise and strengthen through the cultivation of their qi".
