The performers are Růžena Merunková, Jana Preissová, Eduard Cupák, Jiří Horčička, Milan Mach, Miroslav Moravec, Jaroslav Moučka, Ladislav Mrkvička, Petr Štěpánek, Jiří Štěpnička and Josef Vinklář. One of the best directors of this genre, Jiří Horčička, has signed the dramatization of Eduard Bass's popular novel chronicle set in a circus tent, who directs and also acts in his 1985 audio transcription. In the necessary brevity, he managed to preserve the plot line covering the time period of almost a century and the colorfulness of Bass's narrative about the people from the maringotes, for whom their life was their work. The title does not lack the appeal of the epic and the tension characteristic of Horčiček's masterful direction emphasizing all the strengths of Bass's text.
