The new story with Spejble, Hurvínek, Mánička, Mrs. Kateřina and the dog Žeryk was inspired by the real, interesting and, above all, comical circumstances of the creation of a household appliance with an unfairly tarnished reputation - namely the vacuum cleaner, alias luxury. If perhaps cleaning the apartment is not exactly your hobby, it doesn't matter: this history will surely amuse you anyway.
Listen to the story that takes you to England at the beginning of the 20th century. Find out what happens when Mr. Spejbl, as a gentleman in a bowler hat, invents a vacuum cleaner, which he calls Purring Billy. It didn't get its name by accident - it was so huge that it was pulled by a horse-drawn carriage and made such a terrible sound that it scared the horses. This and a number of other wondrous circumstances let the plot unfold, in which our favorite heroes find themselves in the vortex of a technical revolution with the sweet smell of steam and electricity at the turn of the century. You will learn a lot here, but don't worry: Hurvínek is far from boring physics and history lessons!
