The Rangers
Reissue of the legendary debut album from 1969
They were still allowed to be called The Rangers, and on the first LP they perfectly utilized the best that they had created together since 1967. They started with the genre Porta, but their melodically extremely catchy songs presented with great vocals on the border between folk, country and pop became big hits for a much wider range of listeners. The twelve basic albums are proof of that, and the 15 bonus CDs perfectly complement that fact. Country expert - and moderator of Rangers' early performances - Mirek Černý selected singles as well as concert recordings there. With original singer Jarka Hadrabová or guest Michal Tučná, but above all with the most important band line-up Antonín Hájek, Milan Dufek, Miroslav Řihošek, Radek Tomášek, Jan Vančura and Jiří Veisser. It's a flood of positive music with stylistically accurate lyrics, competent instrumental performances and fabulous multi-voices. American folk sources were given a proper home coat, the repertoire exclusively taken over for the album was hinted at in the bonuses later supplemented by Plavci's essential own work.
Wonderful listening, sound-treated and supplemented with memories in the booklet.
