British heartthrob Ed Sheeran made his mark in 2011 when he released his + debut. He won several prestigious awards for his successful debut. He became Discovery and Singer of the Year at the Brit Awards, received the Q Awards for Newcomer of the Year and, as the author of The A Team, also the highly respected Ivor Novello Awards, which are held by, for example, Adele, Bono from U2, Mick Jagger, David Gilmour from Pink Floyd or John Lennon and the Beatles. He consolidated his position as one of the most popular performers on the planet with his second album x, which earned him a number of other awards, including two Grammys for the song Thinking Out Loud. He was voted Male Singer of the Year at the British Annual Awards and the x record won the Brit Awards for Best British Album. In the summer of 2015, he sold out London's Wembley four times in a row for 80,000 spectators.
