The book will present the traditional Czech habits and customs of our ancestors throughout the year. People often did not understand natural events and explained them as the favor or anger of various supernatural beings, goblins, gods and ghosts. They believed in good and evil powers and tried to prevent evil and favor good. Celebrations and holidays used to be a turning point and also a diversion from a difficult life full of work. With the advent of Christianity, the church tried to root out pagan customs and replace them with their own holidays. However, they could not be changed so easily, and thus a wonderful mixture of folk customs, myths and Christian holidays was created, some of which remain to this day.
