Borders are plowed here between the fields and between people, so everyone here knows everything about each other, counts every crown and stares at each other's plate and bed. Here, life is still firmly connected to the land and takes place close to the area of ​​one's own backyard, pub or shop... Such is Dědina - a tragicomic story of a contemporary village somewhere in the lace of the author's native Vysočina, viewed through the eyes of its inhabitants and told in their authentic language with dialect. The physical proximity of the cheerful heroes as well as their joint work, the desire for a better living and persistent calculation are the source of eternal quarrels and are accompanied by a futile attempt to heal wounds from the past. The brisk narration of the award-winning writer does not judge any of the characters, and what is even more important: it does not bore.
