Janusz Korczak refused to leave his children and set out with them on a joint journey into the darkness, into the gas chambers. More than half a million people lived in the Warsaw Ghetto, less than one percent of them lived to the end of the war. They survived to tell their story. Young lovers Mischa and Sophia ran away from Warsaw just before their wedding with the vision of a single life. After being forcibly returned to the newly constructed ghetto, they joined Dr. Janusz Korczak and started caring for 200 children in the orphanage. The doctor made a selfless effort to uphold the rights of even the smallest child in the face of unimaginable conditions, becoming a beacon of hope for thousands of people living behind the walls. As the noose of terror tightens around the ghetto, Misha and Sophie are separated and forced to face their worst fears separately. All they have left is the belief that they will meet again one day...
