Godfrey Morgan, the young nephew of a rich industrialist, was to marry the millionaire's daughter and wanted to experience some adventure before the wedding. Uncle Kolderup therefore sends him on a journey on his ship. As a companion, he chooses a teacher of dance and social behavior, Tarteletto, who lives in his house and is almost useless for practical life. However, shortly after departure, the ship gets caught in a storm and begins to sink off an unknown coast. The captain advises Godfrey to throw himself overboard and swim ashore to save his life. He actually succeeds and finds Tarteletta on the beach when the storm ends. Soon the two discover that they are apparently the only survivors of the shipwreck and that they are on an uninhabited island. Both men thus initially live a very rough Robinson life on the island, there is also rescuing a captive of cannibals or fending off an attack by wild animals. After a while, a large number of crocodiles and wild beasts swarm the island, and a real struggle to save bare life ensues.
