Ferda Mravenec ranks among the most popular characters in Czech children's literature. It is hard to believe that he is more than 85 years old. But it's true - he was "born" in 1935. At his cradle stood the well-known illustrator, cartoonist and writer Ondřej Sekora (1899-1967). The book Ferda practices an anthill, which returns to its young readers, was created twelve years later. The author - originally a sports editor - did not deny in it that he has a sporting spirit and a sense of humor and fair play.
