When a loud rooster joins a flock of chattering hens, it does not bode well!

Grandpa Pettson has ten chickens in his coop. The cat Fiškus likes to tease them, and then they run around the yard and often get up to some mischief together. After Pettson, the hens are Fiškus' best friends. One day, however, Pettson brings a rooster to the hens and is in for a real disaster.

The chicks are completely puffed up from the rooster. They love how he proudly carries himself and how beautifully he barks. But Fiškus has a quite different opinion. He suspects that a lot of madness will break out with the cockerel in the yard, and that the rolled-up screech could also get the cat out of favor with the hens. And Fiškus is definitely not going to like that. So he starts making a plan to get rid of the annoying rooster.
