The historical novel by our favorite author tells the true story of an admirable personality and a prominent figure in history - Karl Huss from Cheb, who was able to defy his lot in life and the prejudices and opinions of his time. This self-taught, exceptionally well-educated for his time, turned executioner into a renowned healer, expert in mineralogy and an important collector. Even J.W. Goethe himself felt admiration for such an extraordinary person. Thanks to this friendship, Karel Huss eventually became the administrator of Chancellor Metternich's collections at Kynžvart Castle.
