I was a forester, served all my life in Jeseníky, and my great hobby was hunting. As a forestry manager, chief engineer and director of a forestry plant, as well as a director of the forest production division in a joint-stock company, I have always been very close to the exercise of hunting rights. I proudly claimed to be among those who had green blood just like me. I went after various animals alone or, at the given time, accompanied invited hunting guests on hunts. Most of the days of my life were spent working, but also hunting, in the middle of the Jeseníky Mountains, not far from Praděd. I lived a significant part of my life in deep forests, for which I thanked my fate many times. The years passed like rapid waters in a torrent, and I allowed myself to choose and write down several hunting stories and something from my certainly not wasted forestry life in this book. I wish you, dear readers, to take a leisurely stroll through the pages of the book and perhaps along the trails of the beautiful Jeseníky Mountains that I have opened up a bit.
