The Sázav monastery he founded became an island of the Slavic language, Old Slavonic, in the middle of the Latinizing environment of Central Europe. Both Old Slavic and Latin languages ​​were used in Sázava, as well as Roman and Eastern rites. That is why Sázava also became a symbol of the fight against permeating Germanization, so that its legacy was often picked up in history precisely during the most dangerous periods for the Czech (and Slavic in general) language.
