Children from 26 countries sent Pope Francis letters accompanied by drawings, from cheerful to serious, from the curious to the profound. When Pope Francis held them in his hands for the first time, he smiled and remarked: "But these are tricky questions!" Pope Francis showed his deep love and respect for the children by taking the time to listen to them, trying to imagine their faces and his heart answered them. It is the heart of a shepherd who cares immensely for the little sheep in his flock and who lovingly understands that the little ones look to us adults for help in trying to understand the world.
