The book The Highest Sacrifice is the first detailed biography of the last priest of Lidice, Josef Štemberka. Against the background and in the context of the events of that time, he brings his life closer. At the same time, he relies on archival materials and eyewitness testimonies and tries to disprove some long-held ideas and folk legends about his life. It is also the first book that, thanks to P. Štemberka's long-term service in Lidice, maps the history of this village since 1909.
