Bea and five-year-old Agnes live in an overpopulated city overwhelmed by smog. Agnes suffers from a persistent cough and withers before Bee's eyes. Air pollution has exceeded the tolerable limit, but no one is addressing the health problems associated with it. After all, where else to go when, apart from the City, there is only the Wilderness, the last strip of wild nature? But the only hope is to change the environment, so Bea decides to take an extreme solution - that is to participate in research to find out if people can live in the wild without leaving irreversible traces. New Wilderness presents an apocalyptic vision of a world out of balance, struggling with the consequences of climate change and overpopulation. At the same time, it is an empathetic study of the mother-daughter relationship under extreme circumstances and the functioning of human nature in conditions where survival is at stake.
