THE FINDING OF A BODY BURIED FORTY YEARS CONNECTS TWO APPARENTLY UNRELATED CASES... Faroese policeman Hjalti Hentze believes that he has a clear case on his desk for the first time in a long time: a fire at an abandoned farm, most likely started by mistake by its owner, a local drunkard who lived in the house close to he had previously hanged himself. But then the remains of a forty-year-old young woman are discovered on the grounds, and the seemingly simple case begins to get complicated. Moreover, it seems to be related not only to the community that settled on the farm in the 1970s, but also to the old kidnapping and rape of a local girl. Meanwhile, British inspector Jan Reyna continues to investigate the mother's suicide. However, as time goes by, he discovers that his and Hentze's cases are connected, and both point to a sinister secret buried for four decades not only on the islands, but also in Denmark. Hentze realizes this too. As well as Reyn's private investigation starting to turn into an obsession. An obsession that could destroy him.
