The publication Movement activities in preschool education is a methodical manual that deals with several approaches to the implementation of movement activities and, in particular, suitable games and activities for developing these skills in children of preschool age.
The first part of the text tries to use examples and interpretation to shed light on how specific physical activities can be used to fulfill the sub-goals of all five educational areas of RVP PV.
The second extensive part is devoted to the content of movement activities suitable for preschool children and the methodology of training specific movement skills. The mentioned chapter could therefore stand on its own and relate only to children's movement possibilities. However, it was subordinated to the breakdown of the RVP PV and the sub-goals of the Child and his body area, which formulates the requirements for acquiring movement skills and health care.
The next part turns to the creation of school and classroom educational programs and their evaluation from the point of view of the implementation of movement activities both during the day and throughout the school, in relation to the needs of children and the cultivation of their health. In the conclusion, an example of movement activities in the thematic unit is presented as an example of the connection of movement and other activities in the thematic unit.
The publication is intended especially for kindergarten teachers. It can also be used by parents or students of secondary, higher professional and university schools who are preparing to work with children of preschool age. It is also suitable for creating programs for children with deferred compulsory school attendance or children from a less socially stimulating environment.
