A big affair breaks out at the police headquarters in the Upper Silesian town of Tychy - several local officers allegedly raped a prostitute. The victim names Krzysztof Strzelecki, an exemplary policeman and generally a person you would describe as a dobra, as the main perpetrator. Strzelecki resolutely declares that he is completely innocent, but he is put out of service anyway. The only person who believes him without any doubts is his boss Franciszek Próchniewicz.

Unfortunately, he also got into trouble. More precisely, his stepdaughter Zośka Bojarská, who worries a lot. Her eighteen-year-old niece Karolina suddenly disappeared without a trace. Although she had lived somewhat wildly before, she did not disdain parties or drugs and often ran away from home, but this time her aunt has a strong feeling that it is much more serious.

Everything points to the fact that someone kidnapped Karolina. Krzysztof, currently decommissioned, unexpectedly has a lot of free time, so her stepfather asks him to help him in a private search for his missing niece. The tracks will lead them to Paprocany near the town of Tychy - a dam lake that is a popular recreation area known throughout Upper Silesia.
