The worlds of Avett Walker and Quaid Jackson are so different that there is no reason for them to collide. Quaid is a very successful criminal defense attorney, handsome and smooth, while Avett is a troublemaker with pink hair and a dubious past with dubious men. It is the latter that causes her the biggest problem she has ever found herself in, and the only one who can get her out of it is a hot lawyer. But there's no way Avett wants to be emotionally dependent on a tough, no-nonsense lawyer. Yet she finds something about him that compels her to convince him to loosen his tie and have a little fun... with her. Quaid never takes on clients like the impulsive young woman with the garishly bleached hair, but something about Avetta's guileless hazel eyes catches his eye. However, even though he is determined to keep their relationship strictly work-related, he realizes that it is becoming more and more difficult with each passing day he spends with her. And as they co-exist side by side while solving Avetta's case, they will also have to find a way to get along in their personal lives and at the same time stay away from each other - because the space between them is completely charged with emotions.
