"What to fear if you are righteous?"
On April 29, 1960, the incredible life story of the brave and courageous priest Bohuslav Burian comes to a close in the Mirov prison. A man who escaped death several times, his whole life resisted hatred and showed everyone the way to freedom and to God. He wanted to become a missionary, but the time was not in his favor. He went through several concentration camps. He narrowly avoided the gas chamber in Auschwitz, narrowly escaped being shot in the quarry in Golleschau, and escaped the death march. After the rise of the Communists in 1948, he opposed the restriction of freedom and read the banned shepherd's letter at the Green Market in Brno. He was imprisoned and emigrated after his release. He helped refugees in Innsbruck and himself transferred the persecuted across the border. After being arrested in the Russian zone in Austria, he was extradited to Czechoslovakia, cruelly tortured and sentenced to 20 years. He experienced the Jáchymov hell, after escaping from the Leopoldov fortress he was tortured and died as a result of complete exhaustion. Despite his suffering, he always shone with humor and devoted himself to people on the margins of society with incredible energy.
