In a place where the sea is the bluest and where the smell of rosemary is, Melanie spent every summer with her grandmother and together they dreamed of turning an abandoned house into a small family guesthouse. After her death, Melanie feels lost, but her grandmother's last will opens a new chapter in her life. She bequeathed her money to buy her beloved house in Rosemary Bay.

On her first evening in the new town, Melanie meets a local carpenter, Josh, who has eyes the same color as the water in the ocean. A taciturn man is exactly who he needs to renovate the house. But he is determined to leave the town, and moreover, he once promised his mother that he would not cross the threshold of the building that is responsible for the misfortune of so many local residents.
