We invite you on an exploratory and romantic journey through the Eagle Mountains and their foothills. Not only will we visit less beautiful corners, monuments and natural attractions, but we will also get to know remarkable stories that took place here in the past. Jiří Mach, the former longtime director of the Museum of National History in Dobruška, will be our expert guide. We can look forward to the foothill cities and towns of Opočno, Dobruška, Vamberk or Rychnov nad Kněžnou, and we will be hosted by the mountain villages of Olešnice in the Orlické hory, Deštná in the Orlické hory or Orlické Záhoří. Almost everywhere along the way we will admire beautiful village folk architecture. We will witness the glory and fall of the Trčk family from Lípa, we will read the wise, but also somewhat titillating inscriptions on the walls of the Opočen castle, we will learn where Božena Němcová's grandmother was from, what inspired the world-famous painter František Kupka, what were the life destinies of Archbishop Otčenášek, we will walk along the ridges of the Eagle Mountains and we will also visit, for example, the mysterious Potštejn castle or the unique church in Neratov. Our journey will be accompanied by stories about the fates of local carvers, sculptors and painters, as well as rumors about ghosts or the rulers of the Eagle Mountains, Rampušák and Princess Duck. We will also imagine current attractions, which undoubtedly include the Kvasin car factory or the ecological center in Dobré.
