How big is the chance of love between two completely different personalities?
A book that works like a friendly, warm hug... pure hygge.
Rising star of "women's romance" Rosie Blake brings to the book market a positive love story for all readers who like hot chocolate, drawn curtains, cozy candlelight and moments under a warm blanket to read a book that they love will bring a feeling of happiness and well-being.
The rural town of Yulethorpe is experiencing a bleak, unkind autumn, and its residents are just as gloomy. The main street is empty, most of the shops are closed, the only inn is fighting for survival. And it looks like the last open store, a toy store, will soon close as well, as its owner no longer has the energy to fight the apathy of customers and the pessimism of neighbors. It's ten to five in Yulethorpe. But then one day a young Danish woman named Klára Kristensenová appears in the town.
Klára initially only wants to stay for a few days to see for herself the beautiful, picturesque surroundings, which she only knows from the detective series Murders in Midsommer, which the Danes absolutely love. But by chance, on the very first evening, he meets Luisa, an eccentric owner of a toy store, who has just impulsively decided to pack her bags and go on a long vacation to Spain. Word is word, Klára moves in with Luisa and agrees with her that she will not only take care of her pets, but also try to get the failing business back on its feet. It doesn't take long and thanks to her new ideas based on hygge, i.e. the Scandinavian concept of a happy life, and her friendly nature, the shop becomes the center of the whole town.
But then Luisa's son Joe makes an unexpected appearance in Yulethorpe. His mother's departure abroad caught him by surprise, and the young Dane in his mother's house seems suspicious to him. As a successful London stockbroker, he wants to put things "right" as quickly as possible: close the shop and sell it, together with the house, for the most expensive price possible. Joe's life is the exact opposite of hygge - he doesn't move without a mobile phone and laptop, he is pragmatic and efficient and has long since forgotten what it's like to enjoy the small pleasures of life, nature and closeness to friends and family. He does not understand Klara at all and suspects her of ulterior motives. How can anyone work so hard and "conjure up" so much well-being without being rewarded? Does he just fry Danish pancakes in the morning and sincerely rejoice at the sunrise?
At first glance, Joe and Klára have almost nothing in common, yet it soon becomes clear to both of them that something attracts them to each other... Only the man of the big city and hard business can approach a much slower, more comfortable and happier lifestyle according to hygge - and he can really fall in love yet?
