After a painful encounter with death, will a young man find the strength to return to life?
It is October 1966. William Lavery has successfully completed his studies, become the youngest embalmer in the country, and is celebrating his achievements at a holiday dinner. However, he has no idea that on the same evening he will use his newly acquired skills for the first time — embalmers from all over Britain are coming to help in the Welsh town of Aberfan, where a huge tragedy has claimed the lives of over a hundred children.
What William experiences during that long, cold night changes him forever. It will make him remember his boyhood years, the time when he wanted to dedicate his life to music instead of embalming. And he will also be reminded of the moment that irretrievably destroyed this dream, but instead brought him here, to Aberfan. To a place that will show him the value of helping others, but also the power of kindness.
