4 UNTAMED (Aleš Petržela and Tereza Balonová)
After last year's successful tour with the group Jelen, during which she received an enthusiastic ovation from the audience, including in the sold-out Forum Karlín, Tereza Balonová is coming with her debut author's EP Zhasni den. The only eighteen-year-old singer with an enchanting voice and an exceptional feeling for interpretation on it confirms her extraordinary talent in cooperation with producer Martin Ledvina.
The three tracks on Tereza Balonová's debut EP - V přinách, the title track Zhasni den and Neposloucháš - are original songs, complemented by an impressive duet with singer-songwriter Aleš Petržela K neztromcení. In his studio, producer Martin Ledvina brought to the surface all her strengths, above all her distinctive voice with a strongly emotional timbre and unprecedented confidence in interpretation given her age.
Her songs radiate such an experience that the listener would expect a seasoned singer behind the microphone, rather than an eighteen-year-old girl. "Tereza seamlessly transitions from instrument to instrument and does what she wants with everyone, reigning with an angelic voice that is unparalleled in its maturity and emotionality. Her lyrics immediately drew me into the plot with their depth. Working with such an artist is a privilege and pure pleasure," says Martin Ledvina.
In addition to her unique singing qualities, Balonová also stands out because she is a talented author and an excellent guitarist. She has been playing her main instrument since the age of six, already at twelve she competed with her first original compositions at the Porto folk festival. Five years later, she won it for her authentic speech and exceptional talent.
"When my parents took me to the Metallica concert in Eden at the age of eight, it was such a powerful experience for me that I immediately knew what I wanted to do," she recalls. But the performance of the folk group Čechomor had a similarly significant effect on her. "I ran away from my dad and mom and ran into the front row, where I was watching the musicians at their feet to see what they were doing. I wanted to be able to do it too," laughs Balonová, who played competitive volleyball for many years. But the music won in the end.
At concerts, she gets by herself with a guitar and a looper - a device that records and layers sounds on top of each other. "I was inspired to use the looper by Ed Sheeran. I saw videos on the Internet of what it could do, and shortly after that I bought my first basic device with my pocket money. I learned everything I needed from him," explains the performer, how she works intuitively and learns new skills. Over time, she also learned to play drums or keyboards.
She has already completed a tour with the group Jelen, with whom she toured large halls last year before Christmas, including Prague's Foro Karlín. It is said that this final concert brought her the greatest euphoria. "I will never forget it, it was a dream come true for me. Suddenly I was the performer who stands in front of a full hall and everyone is looking at his feet."
