Folk rhymes are short, simple poems with a strong rhythm, intended for the smallest children. They help with children's games, practice speech in the form of various tongue twisters, tease children and develop their imagination. The painter Josef Lada organized the most famous children's nursery rhymes into a collection, which he illustrated with pictures that corresponded in their playfulness and simplicity with the rhythmic text. This book with nursery rhymes has taught many generations of toddlers not only correct pronunciation, but speech in general. Fifty-two of these best-known short poems are now being released on our CD, not only in a spoken recital by Josef Somro, but immediately after each rhyme, set to music by Jan Rotter, is sung by a children's choir. Children also know this cycle of Lado's nursery rhymes from the broadcasts of Czech television as part of children's programs. The CD booklet also contains a songbook with sheet music for each rhyme to help parents and teachers with the music education of the little ones. An exemplary example of a great didactic tool that introduces children to the world, develops their imagination, speech and singing techniques, all in the form of a beautiful work of art.
