After Kehlbrand Reyerik, nicknamed the Dark Knight, and his horde of fanatical warriors ravaged the Honorable Kingdom, he continues his bloody campaign to the Far West. Merchant kingdoms fall one by one to a ruthless warrior who claims to be a god incarnate. Can anyone else stop him? Only perhaps Vélin Al Sorna, a valiant warrior from the Northern Provinces raised by the Sixth Order, has regained his gift—but his new song is black, hateful, and bloodthirsty. And so while an army of Kehlbrand's opponents slowly forms around him and his friends as they travel further and further south, Vélin searches for a cure to tame the monster lurking within him. Their journey takes them to the mysterious Temple of the Spear, to many a battlefield and among pirates. However, they cannot delay the direct confrontation with the Dark Knight indefinitely, and in the end it will be the final fight between the tiger and the wolf...
