One of the most epic series of Czech Television based on the famous novel by Eduard Bass. The life stories and moving destinies of six generations of circus artists taking place during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Whether they tamed lions, built a tent, performed artistic numbers or cooked food for others, everyone had to deal with something during the circus tours around the world. Lost love, sadness for the homeland, bitter disappointment at one's own failure. And the same realization was important for everyone: that a family and a real home are not made up of a cottage, but of the people with whom they live.
