Detective Chief Inspector Jack Logan has had enough of life in gloomy Glasgow, where previous failures and mistakes lie in wait for him literally around every corner. He therefore asks for a transfer and looks forward to a peaceful life in the countryside. But his dreams quickly take over when the waters of Loch Ness wash ashore a mutilated female body.
While the media wildly speculates about monster attacks, Jack believes the killer has only two arms and legs. As he himself knows very well, even monsters are only flesh and blood people.
