Many pages have already been written about the sporting success of this Olympian and world record holder in the javelin throw, but the authors present Mrs. Dana not only as a sports personality, but also as a lady full of optimism and a unique charm. She was characterized by three qualities - bravery, modesty and idiosyncrasy. Dana Zátopková (†97) was not only a two-time Olympic medalist, world record holder, coach and wife of Emil Zátopek (†78). She liked to sing folk songs and never denied being a Moravian woman living in Prague. She was full of energy until a late age. All this was well known to her friends, who in the book tell about what Mrs. Dana was really like. Of course, we cannot forget that her husband Emil would also have celebrated his hundred years in the same year, on the same day (September 19, 2022). We will also come across him and their mutual coexistence in the memories of personalities from the world of sports and culture.
