Long before Dr. Fingal Flaherty O'Reilly appeared in Patrick Taylor's best-selling novel Doctor Who, it's a matter of life! (Czech leda publishing house, 2009), cheered up readers in the humorous columns of a Canadian magazine for doctors. Czech readers can now also get to know these original incidents of the feared doctor abounding in harshly kind humor amidst the somewhat eccentric inhabitants of the Northern Irish village of Ballybucklebo. Reilly leaves the British Navy and sets up his own practice. This former boxing champion and classic scholar, an occasional poacher, a volatile hulk who doesn't let anything please him, but also a hidden philanthropist and proud lover of all things Irish, especially beer and whiskey, struggles against the backdrop of a lovely rural scenery with adversity and the adversity of disease.< /p>

Doctor O'Reilly doesn't give up though.
