This film, inspired by R. E. Raspe's 1785 book, is a real feast for the eyes, ears and mind. The story begins in the 18th century in a small town that is constantly occupied by the Turks, and where a small actress company is acting for the Minister of War and his friends a play about the fictional adventures of Baron Dusty. During the performance, however, an old soldier enters the hall claiming to be the real Baron Prášil. This Baron Prášil will then begin to adjust the play being performed. The story of Baron Prášil thus connects the individual remarkable adventures that the Baron experienced together with his friends.
