“It was an exciting time. The European continent was reeling in uncertainty after 1400." The Church was divided, the gates of Europe were almost being torn off their hinges by the Turks, and the political system found itself in crisis. In 1413, however, hope dawned, as the Constituent Council finally had to solve the most pressing problems from the following year. His results were applauded by the continent, and immediately he froze over the storm that was caused in his heart by the execution of Master Jan in 1415. Čornejo's description of the revolution, its numerous spillovers of forces, clashes, reversals, political ferment and its key actors from beginnings and ideological sources up to the reign of the Hussite King George of Poděbrady. In a popular form, it sheds light on the European context of events, the mentality of the time, religious contexts, the military strategy of the Hussites and their opponents, as well as the importance of Hussites for Czech history. This history "in your pocket" summarizes everything essential about one of the most famous chapters of Czech history. It offers great reading and a possible supplement to study.
