Race across America – one of the greatest tests of endurance, determination and mental toughness that a person can voluntarily undergo.
Four thousand eight hundred kilometers in the saddle of a bike, through scorching desert heat, steep ascents of freezing mountains, the ever-present danger of tornadoes, endless plains in a strong headwind, torrential rain and hail, and dangerous descents. The competitors have to contend with all this.
But what is worst is the lack of sleep. The race across America is run day and night.
He who sleeps does not win.
The time limit to complete the entire track is only twelve days, which works out to four hundred kilometers per day. The numbers are relentless.
Anyone who sleeps more than an hour a day in a race across America has no chance of winning.
