The prominent Czech historian, poet and writer Karel Jaromír Erben devoted a large part of his life to the study and comparison of folklore materials collected in the Czech and Moravian countryside.

This is how the beautiful collection of ballads Kytice was created, which undoubtedly belongs to the most important classical works of our literature. Chillingly horror, although at the same time often very romantic stories such as Aquarius, Wedding Shirt or Polednice have been an inspiration for generations of artists and, together with other poems, received a number of interesting dramatic adaptations. A unique film by František A. Brabc was created in 2000 based on the motifs of seven ballads from the collection.
