The young man Oskar Fischer gets a prestigious job in a well-established company. At a company party, he accidentally meets a very interesting, beautiful and direct woman, the daughter of a high-ranking manager of the same company, Erika Kordová. A beautiful relationship of mutual love and respect develops between them, and everything culminates in the wedding and the birth of their daughter Klára. Just when Oskar seems to have reached the peak of his happiness, his life begins to get unexpectedly complicated...
The story takes place in the real time of the current Czech Republic and former Czechoslovakia and touches on the key events of the time from the point of view of the main characters.
