Joely's personal life is falling apart - her husband is having an affair with her best friend. And so Joely, who as a ghostwriter writes about other people's secrets and scandals, prefers to throw herself into a new work assignment: to write the story of the famous writer Freda. No one must know about this assignment, so Joely secretly goes to Freda's house in an abandoned place. Freda is mysterious from the start and it seems that this task will indeed be Joely's strangest yet. He listens to a story that happened more than fifty years ago, when Freda, as a young fifteen-year-old girl, fell in love with her music teacher. As the story progresses, Freda acts more and more mysterious, and finally, as if by accident, she locks Joely in the tower of her house and leaves.
