Leaving P.T. Barnum's museum of unusual exhibits will be harder than leaving the sea. Once upon a time there was a mermaid named Amelia. She longed to know the world of people, to understand their souls and hearts, so she decided to go live on land. Once upon a time there was a man named P. T. Barnum, a man who wanted to make a fortune from the breathtaking and incredible things that fascinated society at the time. And such a mermaid was more than fascinating. Amelia agrees to headline Barnum's show, deciding to reveal her identity and give the people what they want. He naively thinks that he will be able to leave whenever he wants. But Barnum doesn't just give up on the mermaid. Amelia learns that the human world is not as wonderful as she dreamed it to be, but she will also find love in it. He falls in love and longs for a peaceful family life. Will she be able to escape from Barnum, from the religious fanatics, or will she have to slave as a museum exhibit until the end of her days? A historical tale inspired by a true event: P. T. Barnum actually conned the Fiji Mermaid in his show in the 19th century.
