Michal Viewegh's first published work takes place over two summer days in the backdrop of a small Czech town. A young gymnast is murdered at an annual pilgrimage attended by respectable citizens and famous figures. Her colleague, a teacher from the stuffy environment of the local gymnasium, tells the reader about the incident and the conditions here. The work with detective elements perfectly portrays the atmosphere of a small town and the eighties and entertains with the author's typical irony and sarcasm.
