Fortified churches are an interesting type of sacred buildings. They served not only for religious purposes, but also as strongholds in defense against the enemy. In addition to traditional architectural elements, they also contain fortification elements, for example embrasures or reinforced masonry. Their location then often makes them a dominant element of cities, villages and landscapes.
