Three saints and one robber, two Přemysl princes and two Czech poets, a total of sixteen well-known and lesser-known personalities, presented in this book by the experienced non-fiction author Jan Bauer, have one thing in common - a strange ending. Someone was murdered, another was beheaded or hanged on the gallows, and others were waiting for an early and somewhat mysterious death.
After four volumes of "strange endings" comes the fifth, which has nothing to do with the previous ones in terms of interest, tension, but also in the novelty of the historical point of view.
The author himself admits in the introduction that the presented sixteen personalities somehow missed him from previous books about "strange endings". However, this colorful and somewhat incongruous mixture is not a problem in this case.
On the contrary, it presents a colorful and impressive view of the Czech and Moravian distant and recent past.
