Emily knows she's neurotic. But it's not a disaster, he can already work quite well with his weaknesses. He has them under control. More or less. When she has to fly by plane, she wears compression stockings (so she doesn't get a thrombosis, of course). When she feels like people think she's older than she really is, she starts exercising more and cuts down on gluten. Fortunately, she has by her side the stable and reliable David, who will soon become her husband - that is, assuming they survive the wedding, to which Emily's entire dysfunctional family is about to arrive.
Her mother, therapist Marla, who diagnosed her children from a young age, is especially looking forward to the wedding, and now feels that the wedding is the perfect opportunity to have a few family therapy sessions. Emily is much less enthusiastic about this plan, as are her siblings. In addition, older sister Lauren is a feminist and doesn't really recognize weddings, because they define gender roles too dogmatically. Emily's brother, Jason, is newly divorced and perhaps a bit too eager to jump back into the "singles" life. David's brother also puts the crown on all of this, who in turn has a very strange hobby of participating in village festivities. And since all the relatives live thousands of kilometers away, it goes without saying that they will not only come to the wedding itself, but will spend the whole week before the wedding with Emily and her fiancé.
When this horror week comes around, every day there is some major or minor disaster. After all, the bonds that bind a family together may bend, but they don't break easily.
A funny and refreshing story about family bonds and the disasters that happen when one messy girl gets out of control with her chaos.
