“What is happiness? To have joy in the soul and not to harm others. Could it be, dear reader? My soul rejoices in the journeys. And he also rejoices when he lives for others here and there. And he also knows that some distances simply do not lead any further. That it is good to consciously end certain games, to consciously close certain circles."

With these words, the author introduces his book dedicated to bicycle trips. He divided it into two parts. In the first, he describes a journey along the borders of an extremely interesting and beautiful country. It had to overcome steep mountain climbs, snowy roads and endless kilometers through deep forests or wide plains. Days full of rain and winter alternated with days of sweltering heat. All this could be experienced within less than three thousand kilometers. That country lies in the very heart of Europe, and today the reader would look in vain for its name on maps. That magical country was once called CZECHOSLOVAKIA.

In the second part of the book, there are interesting stories about his earlier trips abroad and in our country. Subcarpathian Rus, Romania, Albania, but also trips to Sněžka, Ještěd or Děčínský Sněžník. Talking about what can be experienced on faraway walks, and how beautiful it can be to wander with children along the banks of South Bohemian ponds.

This is not a true travelogue, nor is it a guidebook. It is a fresh narrative of a person who has gone through a difficult life trial and writing helped him through it. In a sense, it became a drug for him. Permitted and liberating mind.
