Our world is full of hidden mysteries, the most mysterious of which is the human mind itself. The story of a girl from Alapča, who goes out into the world to find a "real person" in it, who would help her discover the meaning of her life. An inner desire takes her to the remote Siberian taiga. The girl is convinced that ancient wisdom still resides inside her, protected from civilization.
In a landscape where natural forces are personified into numerous beings, he meets an old man whom he believes to be a shaman, a connoisseur of all aspects of the natural and supernatural.
While the girl does not want to give up her interpretation of reality, the element of fire rages around and the evil spirit Khargí destroys the forest, angered by the selfishness of greedy people who violated the balance and ancient laws.
The book Shadows on the Merchant's Trail has elements of magical realism. It is a kind of attempt to glimpse the destructive process taking place in traditional cultures in different parts of our planet. Here, the wild forest symbolizes not only the unrestrained soul of Mother Earth, but also an essential part of the human soul that cannot be neglected or neglected. Alapchu is looking for this very part of his soul, but he doesn't know it yet. She is entangled in her projections as in a spider's web and everywhere she encounters only herself, her reflection. Her delusion culminates to the point where she finds herself in danger. And despite the enormous risk that she unknowingly takes, it is Kulisó who becomes the mediator for the revelation of her knowledge, or also maturity. In the involuntary process of learning from a "Siberian shaman", Alapchu discovers the fragility of his own being and the value of his life.
Like Alapchu, we are entangled in our ideas about ourselves and life. Trapped in a tangled web of projections. The oppressed soul lets us know about its plight only through subtle signals that we can hardly ever catch. We are missing something unspoken... However, if we understand that the search outside of ourselves has no end, understanding will eventually come. The treasure is hidden within - it is the mysterious source of our own life.
